FAQs
Am I disabled?
If you are unable to do substantial gainful work because of a medical condition which lasts at least one year or is expected to result in death, the Social Security Administration considers you to be disabled.
How do I apply for benefits?
Go to your local Social Security Administration office, call (800) 772-1213 for an appointment or complete an online application at www.ssa.gov.
What should I do if I have been denied?
Immediately file an appeal, no later than 60 days after the date you receive your denial letter. Go to your local Social Security Administration office, call (800) 772-1213 for an appointment or complete an online appeal at
www.ssa.gov
.
Why do I need an advocate?
Social Security regulations are complex and often do not follow common sense. As your advocate I will develop and guide your claim through the process, making sure your specific needs and interests are properly addressed before the Social Security Disability Adjudicator and the Administrative Law Judge.
When do I need an advocate?
The advantage to obtaining an advocate from the very beginning of your claim is the opportunity to make your case strong from the start. If you have been denied I will file your appeal as quickly as possible and ensure that all forms are properly completed and all evidence is submitted.
NEVER
go to a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge without an advocate. It is very important that your case is presented to the Judge in the format which will give you the best opportunity to be awarded your benefits.
